Lake Alchichica in Tepeyahualco, Puebla, is the largest of the maar lakes of the Oriental Basin, and lies at an elevation of 2320 m. It's Mexico's deepest natural lake, with a maximum depth of 64 m, and a mean depth of 38.6 m. The lake has an area of 1.81 km2. It's saline and alkaline.
