On Sunday 10th July 2022 Manuel HB9DQM/P a radio amateur from Switzerland reached the summit of Le Pleureur and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 43 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 30 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Le Pleureur is 3704 metres (12152 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
