On Saturday 1st October 2022, Waka JG0AWE, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Maehotakadake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 15 contacts in total working on the 70 cm UHF amateur radio band.
The summit of Maehotakadake is 3090 metres (10138 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Maehotakadake is in Nagano Prefecture on Honshu Island.
