Maguid, of Rye, New York, passed away on December 3, 2017, surrounded by loved ones after a nearly two-year battle with multiple myeloma.

He emigrated from Egypt with his beloved wife Viviane in 1969, becoming a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve (in which he served for 12 years) and receiving his American citizenship in 1976.

He was a board-certified and nationally renowned urologist for many years before becoming a hospital executive for the second-half of his illustrious career. He was passionate about politics, travel, backgammon, history, and real estate, but nothing defined the contours of his life more than his love for his family and friends. He contributed throughout his life to the Nantucket Cottage Hospital, AmeriCares and the Republican Party.

He served as the Chief of Urology at Saint Joseph's Medical Center in Yonkers from 1982-88 and Executive Vice President of Medical Affairs from 1988-1999, Founder and Chairman of SERVITAS from 1996-1998, Chief Medical Officer of the Catholic Health Care System from 1999-2002, President of Benefice Advantage from 1999-2002, and Chief Medical Officer of Our Lady of Mercy from 2003-2008.
