On Saturday 27th August 2022, Richard KJ7RTO a radio amateur from Sedro Woolley, WA reached the summit of Martin Peak and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 12 contacts in total working on the 20 metre HF amateur radio band.
