On Tuesday 30th August 2022, Fred WX1S. a radio amateur from Strafford, NH reached the summit of Mount Field and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 50 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 30, 20 and 17 metre amateur radio bands.
