On Saturday 5th August 2023, Szymon WV0X, a radio amateur from Denver, CO reached the summit of Mount Powell and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 13 contacts in total working on the 2m, 20m and 15m amateur radio bands.
