On Saturday 1st April 2023, Marcus VK3TST, a radio amateur from the state of Queensland reached the summit of Mount Worendo and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 10 contacts in total working on the 15 and 10 metre HF amateur radio band.
