The Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke is located in the former headquarters of the Eastern Townships Bank, a fine 19th century building which is part of Sherbrooke’s architectural heritage. Its downtown location places the museum at the very heart of regional cultural activities. Promoting the fine arts, and the appreciation of their universal value and regional flavour, are at the centre of the museum’s mission.
In its three galleries, the museum presents some ten exhibitions per year.
The Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke is supported by le ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition feminine, by the city of Sherbrooke, and by the generosity of its members. Over the years, the Musée has become an important factor in the conservation and diffusion of the visual arts in the Eastern Townships.
