Mysselhøj (Burial Mound)

Mysselhøj (Burial Mound)

Lejre, Denmark (DK)
Mysselhøj is a burial mound located west of Gammel Lejre, Denmark and north of Lejre. The mound is located out in a field and is notable as being the only surviving mound in that field. Evidence of other mounds was found to the west of the Mysselhøj, but these mounds have been completely ploughed away leaving Mysselhøj as the only visible mound. The mound has a large tree growing on it and one can climb up to the top of it to get a great view across the prehistoric countryside of Lejre. The mound has never been excavated but is presumed to be from the Bronze Age.
