On Tuesday 26th March 2024 at 10:27 UTC, Zdenko 9A4FM, a radio amateur from Croatia, made contact with Flo DL8ECA/P, a radio amateur from Germany, who was operating from the Nature Park Bergisches Land (DLFF-0044), on the 40m amateur radio band. Nature Park Bergisches Land (DLFF-0044), is a protected area of 202,700 hectares located in North Rhine-Westphalia in the west of Germany, east of Cologne.
The park area is a low mountain landscape. Due to its location close to a large urban population, recreation is as important as environmental protection in the goals of the park management.
