Nature Reserve Kaliniak (SPFF-1301)

On Thursday 21st March 2024 at 14:40 UTC, Zdenko 9A4FM a radio amateur from Croatia made contact with Chris SP5DU/P a radio amateur from Poland who was operating from Nature Reserve Rozumice (SPFF-0818) on the 20m amateur radio band.

Nature Reserve Kaliniak (SPFF-1301), is a protected area of 53 hectares of protected land north east of the city of Siedlce in eastern Poland. It was designated as a Nature Reserve in 1979 is a IUCN Management Category IV area.

An IUCN Management Category IV area Is an area to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.

The goal of the reserve is to protect a fragment of deciduous forests with which is rich in rare species.
