On Saturday 23rd July 2022 Spencer KJ7STM & William WJ7WJ two radio amateurs from Beaverton OR reached the summit of Needle Point and became the first to active this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 26 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Needle Point is 2749 metres (9019 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
