British singer-songwriter Nick Drake grew up and died here. He released three critically acclaimed studio albums between 1969 and 1972. He died on 25th November 1974. The cause of death was an overdose of amitriptyline. His ashes were interred under an oak tree in the graveyard at St Mary Magdalene in Tanworth-in-Arden. His gravestone reads: “Now we rise/and we are everywhere”, from his song From the Morning.
