On Saturday 1st October 2022, JQ2GOY/2 and JL3MNP/2, two radio amateurs from Japan reached the summit of Nougouhakusan (Gongensan) and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 27 contacts in total working on the 70cm UHF, 2 metre VHF and the 40 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Nougouhakusan (Gongensan) is 1617 metres (5305 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Nougouhakusan (Gongensan) is in Gifu Prefecture on Honshu Island.
