On Friday 29th March 2024 at 11:43 UTC, David OK4KOP, a radio amateur from the Czech Republic, made contact with Bojan OM1BOP/P, a radio amateur from Slovakia, who was operating from NPR Kamenna Baba (OMFF-0515), on the 40m amateur radio band.
NPR Kamenna Baba (OMFF-0515), is a protected area of 127.5900 hectares lying to the north-west of the city of Prešov in the north of Slovakia. It was designated in 2004 as a National Nature Reserve and is an IUCN Management Category Ia area.
An IUCN Management Category Ia area is an area which is aside to protect its biodiversity and also any notable geological/geomorphological features. Access to the area is strictly controlled to ensure the highest level of protection.
