On Monday 25th March 2024 at 14:33 UTC, DL5AOB, a radio amateur from Germany made contact with Flo DL8ECA/P, a radio amateur from Germany who was operating from NSG Rheinufer Urdenbacher Altrhein bei Baumberg (DLFF-0865) on the 40m amateur radio band. Flo made 170 contacts while he was at the reserve.
NSG Rheinufer Urdenbacher Altrhein bei Baumberg (DLFF-0865), is a protected area of 78 hectares lying in the river Rhine valley between Dusseldorf and Leverkusen in Germany. It was designated as a Nature Reserve in 2012 and is an IUCN Management Category IV area.
IUCN Management Category IV areas are areas to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
