Odd pool

The pool itself isn't that odd but look at what surrounds it. It looks like this nice pool sits in the middle of an industrial site. Perhaps it is used for testing something water related.

Note the infrastructure around the SE corner of the pool. This is not a pleasure or sport pool with that there.

Just to the north of the pool is a concrete pad with something parked on it. Is it perhaps some type of submersible?
