The Oliva Cigar Co. is a family owned company that traces it roots back to Melanio Oliva. He got it all started in 1886 in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. After the Cuban Revolution Melanio's grandson Gilberto Oliva moved to Spain and later Nicaragua. Gilberto Jr., runs the company now in Miami Lakes.

Oliva Cigar Co. is not to be confused with the Oliva Tobacco Company of Tampa.
