On Monday 4th December 2023, Brandon ZS6LZ, a radio amateur from South Africa, reached the summit of Oppermanskop and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 27 contacts in total working on the 40m and 30m amateur radio bands.
