Pacific Beach Military Resort and Conference Center

Pacific Beach Military Resort and Conference Center

Pacific Beach, Washington (WA), US
The Pacific Beach Military Resort and Conference Center sits on the bluff above Pacific Beach and used to be a Navy station that monitored sonar installations on the sea floor of the continental shelf, probably looking for Russian submarines. There is still a Navy electronics presence there, but I don't know what they do, maybe the same thing.

For the most part, it has been converted to a vacation / conference center for military and DoD civilians. The center features a hotel, but you can also rent 2, 3, and 4 bedroom houses that used to be base housing. The cottages" as they are called are fully stocked with kitchen equipment, plates and tools and so forth.

The recreation center features a full gym, and the largest hot tub I have ever seen. There is also a bowling ally and theater. There is a full bar with cheap drinks, but the restaurant is sub-par.

I stay here several times a year.
