Palanok Castle (also known as the Castle of Munkács) at the city of Mukacheve, western Ukraine, is originally from 14th century. It was used as a prison during the 19th century. The Greek national hero Alexander Ypsilantis was imprisoned in here from 1821 to 1823. It has since then been used as barracks and is now a museum. Picture of the castle here.
