On Saturday 18th March 2023, Guido PY2GUT, a radio amateur from Brazil reached the summit of Pedra da Marcela and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 7 contacts in total working on the 15 and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.
