The Percha Diversion Dam is located on the Rio Grande in New Mexico, 2 miles downstream of the Caballo Dam and 21 miles south of Truth or Consequences. Its main function is to divert water from the Rio Grande into the Rincon Valley Main Canal, an irrigation canal. The Rincon Valley Main Canal which is approximately 27 miles in length irrigates land between Las Cruce and Truth or Consequences in New Mexico. The dam takes the form of a large concrete weir. Its construction was completed in 1918 and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
