Phil Lynott (August 20. 1949 – January 4. 1986) was the lead singer and bass player in the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy.

Thin Lizzy's most famous songs were "The Boys Are Back in Town" from 1976 and their edition of the Irish folk song "Whiskey in the Jar" from 1972.
