Up until 1995, the Pinellas Plant was part of the U.S. Nuclear Weapons Complex. Although its primary product was neutron generators, it also produced other components such as lightning-arrestor connectors, capacitors, magnetics, and optoelectronic devices. Environmental remediation activities were started in 1994, and the plant was sold to the Pinellas County Industry Council in 1995. It is now the Young–Rainey STAR Center, a high-tech commercial industrial center and "business incubator".
