On Thursday 28th March 2024 at 11:49 UTC, Janos HA8TI, a radio amateur from Hungary, made contact with Jouni OH2LIO/P, a radio amateur from Finland, who was operating from Pinkjärvi (OHFF-0237), on the 17m amateur radio band. Jouni made a total of 59 contacts while at the reserve.
Pinkjärvi (OHFF-0237), is a protected area of 1,681 hectares located in the west of Finland to the south of the city of Pori. It was designated in 2015 under the EU Special Areas of Conservation (Habitats Directive) and is an IUCN Management Category IV area.
IUCN Management Category IV areas are areas to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
