On Sunday 11th February 202 the British Newspaper, The Guardian, on its website and in its print edition reported on the Madrid residents campaigning to save the city's trees.
In recent weeks, the paper reported that the neighbourhood around the Plaza de Santa Ana had become the latest flashpoint in the ongoing struggle to stop the felling of mature trees in Madrid.
The trees are due to be felled to facilitate work to renovate the car park underneath the Plaza. Other trees in the city have been felled as the work continues on the city's metro extension.
