Facilities either at the beach or close by include swimming rafts, ice creams, kayak hire, a cafés, pubs, toilets, and fishing from the stone breakwater.
The orientation of the bay and the gently sloping beach make this beach a great beach spot for surfing. Although there is no lifeguard service. It is also a great location to capture beautiful sunsets and on clear days the Irish Coast and the Mountains of Mourne are visible.
