PP Stráně u Velkého Újezdu (OKFF-2378)

On Saturday 30th March 2024 at 09:48 UTC, Ivo 9A1AA, a radio amateur from Croatia, made contact with Martin OK1JMD/P, a radio amateur from the Czech Republic, who was operating from PP Stráně u Velkého Újezdu (OKFF-2378), on the 40m amateur radio band.

PP Stráně u Velkého Újezdu (OKFF-2378), is a protected area of 6.3166 hectares lying to the north-west of Prague in the north of the Czech Republic. It was designated in 2013 as a Nature Monument and is an IUCN Management Category III area.

An IUCN Management Category III area is set aside to protect a specific natural monument. Examples of natural monuments include a landform, sea mount, submarine cavern, geological feature e.g. a cave or a living feature e.g. an ancient grove. These areas are often quite small but have a high visitor value.

This Nature Monument was establishment to protect an important European site of scrub facies and semi-natural dry grasslands on calcareous bedrock.
