On Sunday 11th June 2023, Richard EA6ANY, a radio amateur from Mallorca, Spain reached the summit of Puig Major and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 6 contacts in total working on the 2m amateur radio band.

The summit of Puig Major is 1436 metres (4711 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database. It is the highest summit on the island of Mallorca.
