The Quesada family started in the tobacco business in the late 1800's after they moved from Spain to Cuba. In 1929 part of the operation moved to the Dominican Republic and was named Manufactura de Tobacos S.A.(MATASA). Today the company is run by fifth generation Manolo Quesada.

Quesada produces cigar brands: Casa Magna, Quesada, Fonseca and Vega Magna.
