SS Cretewheel was built of ferrous concrete, she was a tugboat and was powered by a triple expansion steam engine. The SS Cretewheel was built at Shoreham-by-Sea (West Sussex) by John Ver Mehr, construction began in 1918 but she was not completed until 1920 after the war was over. On the 14 October 1920 the SS Cretewheel was wrecked on rocks at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea in Northumberland.
