Ruins of Plymouth

Plymouth, Montserrat (MS)
Plymouth, the capital of Montserrat, a British overseas territory in a chain of islands known as the Lesser Antilles. The city was a nice place to live, as it was a little British outpost with traditional red telephone boxes and much better weather than Britain.

However, this all ended 18th July 1995, when the Soufriere Hills volcanao errupted. Plymouth was buried under 12 metres of mud and the city was abandoned.

What's left today:
It's like a scene from a post apocolyptic world, with houses and cars buried in thick layers of mud. Roofs of houses are sticking up from the mud and the houses that weren't buried under the mud are now ruins. Many other buildings in the area have become ruins and are now being reclamied by nature.
