On Monday 1st April 2024 at 08:51 UTC, Fri DL4FDM, a radio amateur from Germany, made contact with Robert DL4ROB, operating for the SOTA Deutsche Alpen Radio Club (DA20XOTA), from Südufer des Simssees NSG (DLFF-0440), on the 40m amateur radio band. Robert made a total of 57 contacts while at the reserve.
Südufer des Simssees NSG (DLFF-0440)[South shore of Lake Sims], is a protected area of 254.99 hectares lying south-east of Munich in Germany. It was designated as a Nature Reserve in 1993 and is an IUCN Management Category IV area.
An IUCN Management Category IV area is an area to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
