The richest man in post WW2 Hungary for a time, Sándor Demján started his career in this small village called Sárszentmihály where he was the head of a small cooperative. Later he went on to become a multibillionaire in terms of Hungarian forint and a multimillionaire in USD. This monument and a memorial park was created by a local company in honour of him in October 2020.
