In 2004, Saab's 9-2X, often called the "Saabaru" due to being a badge-engineered Subaru Impreza Hatchback for 2005, selling it to a limited public. Its equivalent to the WRX was the Aero trim level, but wasn't offered in Canada in 2006. With 10,346 units produced over the course of two production years, with a sharp decrease in 2006, sales never met expectations.
