On Saturday 2nd July 2022 Mark KD7DTS a radio amateur from El Segundo reached the summit of San Gorgonio Mountain and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 49 contacts in total working on the 70 cm UHF, 2 and 6 metre VHF and the 60, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands
The summit of San Gorgonio Mountain is 3505 metres (11499 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
