Savijärven suo (OHFF-0853)

On Sunday 10th March 2024 at 13:21 UTC, Zdenko 9A4FM a radio amateur from Croatia made contact with Saku OH2NOS a radio amateur from Finland who was operating from Savijärven suo (OHFF-0853) on the 40m amateur radio band.

Savijärven suo (OHFF-0853) is small, 28 hectares, protected area in eastern Finland, it was designated in 2015 under the Special Areas of Conservation (Habitats Directive) and is part of the Natura 2000 network which extends across the European Union.

Natura 2000 aims to protect many of Europe's most vulnerable and threatened habitats and species.
