On Thursday 9th March 2023, Rafael PU1HAH, a radio amateur from Brazil reached the summit of Serra da Cascatinha and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 43 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and 10 metre HF amateur radio bands.
