On Wednesday 5th October 2022, Sofia CS7AKX/P and Carlos CT1DYH/P, a couple radio amateurs from Portugal reached the summit of Serra de Montemuro and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 39 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Serra de Montemuro is 1382 metres (4534 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
