Site of the deadly last raid of the outlaw Dalton gang.

Coffeyville, Kansas (KS), US
The Dalton outlaw gang tried to rob two banks at this location in October, 1890. Only one of the bank's (Condon) is still operating at the site of the deadly gunfight. A fight that saw at least 8 fatalities and many more injured as gunfire rang out from both outlaws and enraged townsfolk. The Dalton gang wore disguises but were recognised as locals to the area. This gave the townsfolk and lawmen the crucial time needed to fight back.

Here is the description of the events painted on the wall right beside one of the banks. "On October 5, 1892 The Dalton Gang rode into Coffeyville Kansas, to rob the Condon and First National Banks. Following a 12 minute gun battle, four members of the Dalton Gang were killed. Bob & Grat Dalton, Bill Power and Dick Broadwell. Emmet Dalton survived, four courageous citizens also lay dead. George Cubine, Charles Connelly, Charles brown and Lucius Baldwin."
