This memorial cairn was constructed to mark the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 1977. It was the Parish of Waterhouses' official memorial to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Queen's reign.

The circular cairn of roughly hewn stone blocks is c12ft high and has a domed top. Around the lower part of the cairn there is a circular wood covered stone bench.
