The exhibition was for a house in North Carolina, and it was only Jan Ruhtenberg who was the architect for Youpon Dunes: Chapin home.

This is wrong info: " . . .he recommended a new Bauhaus grad named William Priestley for the job. Priestley was assisted by Johnson's friend, Jan Ruhtenberg. Johnson did set up a small exhibition around the house design at MOMA July 10-Sept 30, 1933." Wrong info printed in the new book on P. Johnson.
From a newspaper of the time, the exhibition was for a totally different house in North Carolina, and it was only Jan Ruhtenberg, as is listed in his resume, who was the architect for Youpon Dunes: Chapin home-1933, not Priestley.

He did not recommend William Priestly. He passed the commision from Mr. Chapin, on to his friend Jan Ruhtenberg, who designed it.
