As can best be determined, this is Schlachthof 5 (Slaughterhouse 5), in whose cellar Kurt Vonnegut was interned as a POW during the Allied firebombing of Dresden. His experiences formed the basis of his novel, "Slaughterhouse-Five." The building bears a sign reading, "South Entrance and Hall 1" (translation). Its basement has been partially filled with debris.
