This ancient church is sadly no longer in regular use, but thankfully it is being preserved by the Churches Conservation Trust.
St Werburgh's is also known as St Werburgh's Old Church), and is a rare example of an English timber framed church which is believed to date from the late12th or early 13th century, however it was extensively rebuilt in the early 17th century.
While somewhat underwhelming from the outside the interior of the church is an historical delight with timber posts supporting the roof rather than stone pillars.
