Charles de Batz de Castelmore better known as d'Artagnan was a French Musketeer who served Louis XIV as captain of the Musketeers of the Guard. He died at the siege of Maastricht in the Franco-Dutch War. He is one of the characters in the novel The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. This statue was made by Firmin Michelet in 1931.
