Tarawa Atoll (OC-017)

Between 9 April 2023 and 30 April 2023, a team of amateur radio operators from the Rebel DX Group were on Tarawa Atoll. Most of the Group’s activity took place from North Tarawa.

The team used the callsign – T30 while on the island and had planned to be activate on all amateur radio bands from 160m to 10m.

Tarawa is in the Republic of Kiribati which is a group of islands in the Central Pacific Ocean. North Tarawa is formed from a string of tiny islets which are separated by shallow channels which can be crossed at low tide. The atoll’s lagoon is very large having an area of 500 square kilometres.
