The Hawthorne Bridge is one of several spans of this type across the Willamette River in downtown Portland, Oregon. This bridge is a truss bridge with a vertical-lift. Constructed in 1910, it is not only the oldest highway bridge in Portland, it is also the oldest vertical-lift bridge still in operation in the United States.
