The Long Room is the main chamber of the Old Library within the Trinity College Library. The chamber measures 65 meters (213 feet) long.The chamber was built between 1712 and 1732 with the roof being raised in 1860 to accommodate an upper gallery. The room houses 200,000 of the library's oldest books, along with a marble bust collection and the last remaining copy of the 1916 Proclamation of the Irish Republic.
